Pasion Tropical - Maspalomas/Playa del Ingles, Gran Canaria

Studios are the simple accommodation solution at Pasion Tropical, ideal for singles and "sporty" couples. They are made of a large sleeping room with a double bed, a fully equipped kitchenette in the room and a wide bathroom with shower. They all have satellite T.V., eating table for two and may be first floor or ground floor, respectively either with sea view or with terrace.

Apartments consist of a large living room, with a sofa, table for 3-4 persons, satellite T.V.The sofa can be converted into a 3rd bed in case of three persons accommodation. The sleeping room has two single beds. A full separate kitchen and a bathroom with shower complete the apartment features. 

Our pool is not huge, but very cosy and is completed by our 6-place open air whirlpool. It resembles a natural tropical lake, surrounded by lush vegetation.The pool is solar panel heated, so that we can keep it pleasantly warm all year round! Another Pasion Tropical exclusive feature, pools are generally cold in Playa del Ingles resorts. 

Breakfast is served under the gazebo in the main square of the village. We prepare a continental breakfast buffet at 9.15 a.m. and keep it working until 11.30 a.m. As you can see breakfast is late, to give you the chance to wake you up without having to hurry, and start your day in the tropics in the laziest way possible! The singing of our birds and the sound of the water of our fish pond will do the rest to complete the morning atmosphere. 

We have a pool bar, of course, and, apart from the usual drinks and spirits, we concentrate in offering you an unusual and truly home-prepared selection of tropical and Mediterranean specialty drinks and snacks. You'll be able to choose fresh tropical fruit shakes and fruit salads from our "Vitaminas!" menu, or have a very tempting Pina Colada or a fruit Daiquiri made expressly in front of you with fresh pineapple from the island.

We have equipped our complex with a small but effective gym. It is located under a tent in a quiet corner of the garden, and it will give you the chance of working out breathing fresh air, in the shade and surrounded by oxygenating plants and flowers.You will find a multiple machine, an abdominal bench, a pectoral bench, barbells, dumbbell, and weight disks for a total of 80 kilos ! 

The island is located in the 28th parallel, some 120 kilometres away from the African coast, has an unexpectedly benign climate thanks to favourable ocean currents and fresh Trade winds. These factors together with the high volcanic mountains which are found in the interior of Gran Canaria, divide the island into very dissimilar areas of sharp contrasting landscapes which have given the island the nickname of "miniature continent". To climb from the warm, desert coastal areas of the south through the humid and green lower northern slopes to the high mountain peaks is really like travelling through several different countries in a short distance.In a single day one can drive through very different climatic zones, while the more daring can take advantage of the extensive network of paths to get to know this surprising island from its " inside". 

Playa del Ingles is the most famous beach town in Gran Canaria, and possibly in all the Canary island. It is located in the extreme southern part of Gran Canaria, at the side of its famous dunes, protected from the north-easterly Trade-winds which discharge all their humidity and clouds on the northern side of the island.It is definitely one of the favourite and busiest gay holiday resorts in the world!( see nightlife section).Pasion Tropical is located in the San Agustin district, the greenest and most residential area of Playa del Ingles, 2,5 kilometres away from the caotic city centre and only 20 meters from the sea. The area is very quiet, made of low rise buildings and villas, and you will be able to hear the sound of the waves on the shore from your room ! Temperatures are exceptionally sweet all year round here. 20-25o Celsius in winter and 25-30o in the summer are the average temperatures during the day. Never cold, but also never too hot even in the summer. Apart from its climate and beaches Playa del Ingles offers a huge variety of tourist attractions, from restaurants to water parks, from any kind of bars and shops to botanical gardens set in beautiful oasis.Right at the back of the town the volcanic canyons take you through impressive valleys to the interior of the island, where unspoilt nature and rural villages still remind us of the colonial past of the island.

Gran Canaria has the biggest concentration of beaches in all the Canary Islands. There are beaches of black volcanic sand, and beaches of golden desert sand, small rocky bays, and huge stretches of dunes ending into the sea. Famous Maspalomas Dunes are a huge extension of sand, literally a piece of desert, about 8 kilometres long and 3 kilometres wide. This is where the gay and nudist beach is located. Right in front of Pasion Tropical the San Agustin and Las Burras beaches are medium size beaches of dark volcanic sand. Both of them have an area with sun beds and umbrellas as well as big areas where you can freely lie on the sand. For those who like nature and quietness there are still some desert, unspoiled and wild beaches and rocky bays to be found just some kilometres away from Pasion Tropical.

Playa del Ingles is renowned for the huge amount of fun and nightlife offered to the tourist. There are literally thousands of bars, restaurants, pubs, discos, offering the widest range of amusement possible.Gay nightlife here is at its best and is amongst the liveliest in the world! It has its focal point in the Yumbo Center, 5 minutes drive from Pasion Tropical.It is a huge commercial center which transforms itself at night in the Mecca for every kind of gay clubs and bars. There is literally a place for every taste. From nice sidewalk cafes to the loudest discos open till early in the morning, the range of offer of the 40 or so places to choose from in the Yumbo is virtually endless.
